Established in 2021, Discover and Dance was created to share the joy of dance with daycares and classrooms across Winnipeg.

‘Discover and Dance’ is a creative dance program highlighting a play-based approach. Our approach nurtures imagination while enhancing gross motor skills, emotional and physical awareness, self-control, balance, coordination, and respect for oneself and others in shared spaces. While dancers will learn vocabulary and traditional movement from multiple styles, they will also discover the freedom of movement through creative exploration.
Our
Story
Following my graduation from the Professional Program at the School of Contemporary Dancers in 2021, I was excited to begin my career in the arts. Combining my passion for child care and dance, I was eager to further develop my practice as a dance teacher. This inspired the creation of Discover and Dance.
What began as a pandemic summer project quickly grew into a thriving small business, now offering over 15 classes a week and teaching at more than 25 different daycare establishments.

Discover and Dance classes are designed to be accessible to children of all abilities, ages, and interests. We celebrate the joy of dance while recognizing that we are introducing it to a unique group of children who may not have actively chosen to participate in a dance class. Through music, games, stories, and creativity, my approach offers every child the opportunity to discover their own connection to dance!
Toddler
Geared towards ages 12 Months to 2 Years
Class Duration: 30 Minutes
Our Discover and Dance Toddler Classes are a great introduction for little ones to explore the joy of movement, rhythm, and self-expression in a fun and nurturing environment. Toddler classes use a mixture of familiar songs, books, visuals, and props to allow children to move and explore freely within structured classes.

Preschool
Geared towards ages 3 to 5 years
Class Duration: 45 Minutes
In our Discover and Dance Preschool Classes, we believe in the power of nurturing a child's creativity, self-expression, and coordination through the art of dance. Preschool classes offer a vibrant and engaging environment where children can explore movement through structured classes. Preschool classes introduce basic dance vocabulary, and follow-along actions while simultaneously guiding free movement exploration.
School Age
Geared towards ages 6 to 12 years
Class Duration: 45 Minutes
Our Discover and Dance School-Age Class is designed to inspire, engage, and encourage young minds to discover the joy of dance, self-expression, and the art of storytelling through movement. With a fun mix of games - some of which allow for free movement while some invite more specific instruction, this class has something for everyone!
